Nathan Snarr
The greatest experiences in life are born from adversity and an overwhelming desire to overcome. Nathan Snarr has experienced both and it fuels his passion today. He believes the only thing more rewarding than facing and conquering your challenges is sharing the tools that made it happen, and the wealth that those experiences have created.
Nathan was raised in an underprivileged community in Utah. He was the middle child of three sons and recalls the challenges they faced throughout his childhood. His Mom often heated water on the stove for their baths, their cars were broken into multiple times, and he and his brothers were bullied at an early age. Their neighbors had a meth lab, and the most well-known drug dealer in the city lived just up the street. His Dad was rarely at home because he worked a full-time job and attended night school. Once his dad received his engineering degree, he moved his family out of the chaos.
Throughout those years, sports would become Nathan’s escape, as he became the top contender in basketball, football and baseball. However, he quickly learned that even his escape came with challenges. When he was in middle school, he was left off the basketball team because the coach had promised spots to other kids. Then, in high school, his coach informed him that someone else was taking his position, so he decided to transfer to a private school, where he was a starter for every JV game and played on Varsity. However, the head coach wouldn't start him on that team because he said he hadn’t “paid his dues”. Headed into his senior year, he was shockingly cut from the team, despite paying those dues. However, he realized that when one door closes, another opens, and he went on to play college basketball for Peninsula College in Washington. That’s where he injured his knee and was told he’d likely never play again. Once again, he beat the odds again after receiving an experimental surgery and was given a clean bill of health. He was widely recruited across the Nation to play basketball again, but chose to attend a Division II school called Notre Dame College in Ohio, where he played for 3 years and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Throughout all those setbacks, he never lost faith or the desire to achieve more. He thought about his childhood and knew that he wanted more for his own family. He believed he could make millions and still attend recitals and games and be at home when his children went to bed at night. It was this resolve which would catapult him into a life of sales, where he immediately found his calling. That eventually led to a job with Appreciation Financial, where he has remains in the top 10 in the company nationwide since 2016. If Nathan isn’t helping a client with their life insurance or protecting their assets, he is helping business owners with tax credits or employee benefits, growing his Medicare business with his partners, and expanding his real estate portfolio.
When Nathan isn’t working, he’s enjoying every second of family life with his wife, Molly, his son (Nathan Jr) and his daughter (Kollyns). They travel together, have dance parties, and set goals of taking care of their tight knit family. He’s come a long way from the old neighborhood, proving that the will to do better and a thoughtful strategy can make anything happen in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
